What's life without a Honeymoon?

The Honeymoon... So we set off from Newport the Tuesday after our wedding heading to Provo. I had an Orthodontist appointment to get my braces back on. Ugh No one likes braces especially when your a newly wed and 23 years old. We hung out in Utah for the week and went to the festival of colors with our friends. The day after we headed to Reno to see our good friends. After that we were onto our "Honeymoon!"

SAN FRANSISCO...

Standing on Fisherman's Wharf. Golden Gate Bridge behind us.
Oh ALCATRAZ
We spent 4 days in California. Touring all sorts of sites. Alcatraz, Chinatown, Lumbard Street, The Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and The Trolley rides. We walked all around San Fran exploring new streets and looking at all the interesting people there. While trying to find the riding site for the trolley we stumbled upon a park where we stopped to rest and look up on the GPS where we were a homeless man came up to us a love ballad. It was awesome.

Fisherman's wharf. Jamie really loves the sea lions

So I can't get the photo to rotate...Sorry! This was taken at The Aquarium of the Bay

We had a great time on our Honeymoon. Eating at great restaurants such as Bubba Gumps Shrimp and Some hole in the wall Chinese place.  IT was a great time and I can't wait for my next trip with my wonderful husband.

Festival of Colors

Can you say FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who can not love throwing colored chalk on your friends and random people?
After the wedding was over we had to head back to Utah pronto because I had an appointment to get my braces back on. Ugh. Not fun. But we make the most of it. :)

While we were in Utah we attended the Festival of Colors with our friends. It is a celebration of spring. Thousands of people and college students from BYU and UVU drive 20 min south to Spanish Fork to attend this Festival at the Hare Krishna Temple. We went to the first throwing of colors at 9 am. Bright and Early for some people. :)
Like I said Bright and Early :) Sorry Catye

We packed up the car with sheets and money and Bailey and drove south.

This is Bailey! She is Messina's 4 yr old daughter she is a crack up and we had a lot of fun showing her how to throw the chalk.

You start out clean with one little spot and as the festival goes on you get prettier and prettier covered in chalk.

From right to left: Mike, Catye, Leah, Jamie, Tasha, Bailey, Messina

In the crowd you find the random clean people. With your left over chalk you have nothing better to do than chuck it at them and cover them as well :) Well I just happen to spot 2 VERY clean people on our way out and I bombarded them. MUHahahahahaha

Roy and Elliot
Love you Guys!

And that ladies and gentleman is the Festival of Colors. I hope one day you to can chuck chalk on your friends and loved ones :0

WEDDING BELLS!

The wedding......Holy Cow it was a lot of work. I moved home a couple of weeks before to help get stuff ready. I was busy cleaning Aunt Sue's house and reception hall. I went through her whole warehouse and found everything I wanted to use for our reception. Silk, tool, lights, tents, trees, dance floor, tables, linens, chairs, center pieces, anything you needed to have an amazing reception I needed. It took a lot of work and patience on my family's part but we did it and our reception was amazing.

The Wedding was fast approaching. We were getting married on Friday and we had people flying and driving into Portland on Thursday so Jamie and I pack up the things we would need for the wedding day and we head to Portland. We stayed Wednesday night at my Aunt Elizabeth's. My Grandma Buckmaster flew in the day before so we got to chat with her for a little while. It was Jamie's first time meeting any of the Buckmaster's side. They all took a liking to him and everything was great. We called it a night because the next morning Dayne, Messina, Catye, and Trevor were to arrive.

I get a call about 5 am Thursday morning it was Dayne they were parked outside my aunts house dead tired from their drive though the night. They all crashed in the basement with us for a couple of hours.

We got up showered and dressed cause Thursday was a crazy day. We drove all over Portland picking up people from the airport. Then wasting time until we had to go back to the airport for delayed flights. All in all it was a good night and everyone was happy. Jamie's sister and brother in-law drove in around 7 and we decided to meet up with them and his parents and grandma for dinner. We went to Burgerville. MMMmmm Need I say more? After dinner we called it a night. The Boys headed to their hotel and the girls to ours. Jamie's Parents and Sister went back to theirs as well. When we woke up the next morning we were to be getting married.

The morning of was great. we had a great nights rest and I was totally ready to head to the temple. The sealing was amazing and loved it. Next we were to head outside to take pictures and then head to Newport for the reception.

Megan Captured some pictures of the reception....

Thank you Trevor for making our cake! It looked amazing!

My parents put together all of the food, we asked my cousin Melissa and some good friends of ours to help out with serving.
Everyone looked like they were having fun singing Karaoke and eating.
Thank you Everyone who helped!

Engagement Pictures!!!

So Funny. We were getting ready to take pictures and Megan tells us to bring as many changes of clothes as we want. Well me being a girl I grab multiple. Jamie's response I look just fine in this one shirt. So instead of fighting him on it I just let him wear that one. But he did look really good in it :)

As we were taking pictures along this wall Megan had an idea to have Jamie dip me. So Jamie starts to dip me and of course I squirm and he drops me. Did I mention that the snow had just melted and it was really muddy right where he dropped me?? I had mud all down my side. I had to change shirts and then make sure my left side wasn't showing in any of the pictures because there was mud clear down to my feet.

Thank you Megan for everything you did! We love our pictures!

The Engagement Part 2. :)

Ok So apparently I suck at this and I added the first posting of the engagement without finishing it and adding photos So here it goes again.

Jamie and I take a trip to Oregon the weekend before Thanksgiving for one of my best friends wedding. I was originally going to go by myself but it just so happened that this would be the perfect time for Jamie to "Meet the Parents" So here goes a 16 hour car ride with Kelsey (my little sister) and Trevor (hometown friend and Jamie's roommate). The whole way over to Newport we were warning Jamie of my dad. How he likes to tease people and just make them squirm. I know how sarcastic Jamie is and I figured he could handle my dad but it was still a good choice to warn him.

We drove through the night and got into Newport about 6 am. Right when mom and dad woke up :) we walk in and Jamie who drove most of the night was tired, hungry, and cranky. Great time to meet the parents for the first time. He did however put on a smile and hugged them. Mom and dad left for work and we all headed to our bedrooms to sleep. Jamie in the guest room and I crawled into bed with Kirsten. Kelsey slept on the couch. We slept a few hours and me who can never sleep very long after a 16 car ride through the night only let Jamie sleep for 2 hours. :) He was not a happy camper. We got up showered and dressed and we headed out on the town....of Newport. Jamie was a little impressed by how big the ocean is. He still will say to me "wow I can't believe the ocean just keeps going. I can't see anything out there."  Yes Jamie, it is the Pacific Ocean and yes it is HUGE.

We went and got some fish and chips at a local fish joint and Jamie who is not the biggest seafood eater actually liked it :) we got a soda for mom and dropped by the middle school to give it to her and show Jamie where I grew up. It is always fun to see old teachers and people you grew up with. This time I got to introduce Jamie to everyone. That night we had dinner with the family and just hung out at home. The next day was Saturday and mom and dad wanted to show Jamie around a little. So we headed up to Depoe Bay and did some site seeing....a little later that day we went off by ourselves to the bay front and got to explore Mariner Square (Ripley's Believe it or not and the wax works).
Dad asked if he could take Jamie and I to dinner with him and mom so he could talk to Jamie and getting married. OOOOooooo It was "The Talk" Only it was my dad's first time and he thinks the whole one on one this is weird and awkward so he just took us out to eat at Mo's MMmmmm. We ordered and as soon as the waitress left out came the question. "So you guys want to get married?" Jamie-"Uh, Yes sir we do." Dad-"and you have prayed about it and you want to get married in the temple?" Jamie-"Yes sir." Dad-"alright you have our blessing." That was it :) Easy Peasy.

Our Trip was a success and we had a great time visiting home and seeing old friends. Sarah's wedding was beautiful and I was ready to start planning mine ;)

A few weeks went by and I started to nag at Jamie...When am I going to get a ring? It was the question of the day everyday. He somehow managed to dodge it pretty good. The Second Thursday in December Jamie planned a trip for all of our friends and us to go to Temple Square and look at the lights. He did a great job planning cause I had NO Idea what was going on. Tasha had her camera and was snapping shots all over the place. Group photos, single photos, girls photos, guys photos. It was a lot of fun and the lights were so pretty. We were on our last little section of temple square and Jamie want's pictures on the little platform just outside the gates. you know the one where all the brides and grooms take pictures. So we did group photos, sister photos, guys photos and girls photos, then Jamie was like I just want a picture with Leah now. So me being the star or every picture climbs up on the platform and start to pose....I look over at Jamie and he has a goofy smile on his face so I Go along with it and do goofy shots. then he says you want a cute picture now....OF COURSE..... Who doesn't want a cute picture in front of the temple with their boyfriend. So we pose only Jamie wasn't posing he was down on one knee. All I could think to say was "Are you being serious right now?" HaHa He was being serious and I did say Yes! He was so cute and did a great job picking a ring. From there it was official. We were heading to Tucson for Christmas to meet his family and after that was the wedding.
